What to drink

  • Hierbas ibicencas — An anise-based herbal liqueur flavoured with island herbs such as thyme, rosemary and fennel, served chilled after meals, often with ice.
  • Ibiza wine — A handful of small wineries make reds, whites and rosés under the Vi de la Terra Eivissa label, often from Monastrell and other Mediterranean grapes grown inland.

Evenings through the year

Sunset and the overnight low decide how long the outdoor part of a night lasts. August has the warmest evenings, with lows around 22°C (72°F).

Getting home late

  • Bus — Summer buses to popular beaches fill quickly; catch an early one or check the timetable for return times.
  • Ferry — Fast ferries run from Ibiza Town to La Savina on Formentera in about 30 minutes, and water taxis link Ibiza Town with Talamanca and Platja d'en Bossa.
  • Taxi — Use only licensed taxis; unlicensed drivers offering rides outside clubs are illegal and uninsured.

Late-night bites

  • Orelletes — Bakeries, especially around village festivals and holidays.
  • Sobrassada and botifarró — Village butchers and markets, and on menus as starters or in sofrit pagès.

Staying safe at night

Theft from bags and cars, pickpocketing in clubs and drink spiking are the most common issues, so watch your belongings and your drink. Use only licensed taxis. In summer, beware of strong sun and dehydration, rough paths to coves such as Atlantis, and currents at exposed beaches; check flag warnings.
