Centro storico and Piazza Tasso
The historic centre spreads around Piazza Tasso, with the grid of lanes such as Via San Cesareo running west towards the cathedral and the Sedile Dominova. Corso Italia is the main shopping street and the bus and train station is about five minutes' walk east. Staying here puts restaurants, bars and the lift down to the port within easy walking distance.

- Positano (About 45–60 minutes by bus) — Positano's pastel houses tumble down to the pebble beach of Spiaggia Grande, with steep lanes of boutiques and ceramic shops.
- Amalfi and Ravello (About 1.5 hours by bus or ferry) — Amalfi has the striped cathedral of Sant'Andrea and the paper museum, while Ravello, a bus ride above it, has the gardens of Villa Rufolo and Villa Cimbrone's Terrace of Infinity.
