Quick answer

Turks and Caicos is a British Overseas Territory with a small population descended largely from enslaved Africans brought to work salt and cotton plantations, along with Bermudian, Loyalist and Haitian influences. Island life is laid back and church-going, with traditional ripsaw music and junkanoo appearing at festivals.

  1. Greet people with 'good morning' or 'good afternoon' before asking a question.
