Day by day
Day 1: Little Venice and Kato Mili windmills
Little Venice, Kato Mili windmills, Panagia Paraportiani and Archaeological Museum of Mykonos, then Paradise and Super Paradise beaches in the evening.
Morning
Little Venice
Find a seat by 6pm in July or August for sunset, or watch from the rocks below the windmills for free. Allow 1–2 hours.
Late morning
Kato Mili windmills
Visit early in the morning for photos without crowds, or at golden hour from the Little Venice side. Allow 30 minutes.
Lunch
Lunch: Kopanisti
Traditional tavernas in Chora and Ano Mera; delicatessens sell it in tubs.
Afternoon
Panagia Paraportiani
Combine it with Little Venice, a two-minute walk away, and visit at sunset when the walls glow. Allow 20 minutes.
Late afternoon
Archaeological Museum of Mykonos
Visit before Delos to understand the island's history, or on a windy day when boats are cancelled. Allow 45 minutes.
Evening
Paradise and Super Paradise beaches
Take a sea taxi from Platis Gialos instead of driving; parking is scarce in July and August.
If it rains
- Swap in Aegean Maritime Museum (Mykonos Town (Chora)): Children who like boats enjoy the ship models; it is a good stop during the heat of the day.
Where to stay for this itinerary
$$$$ · Best for first-timers, nightlife, couples and shopping
Mykonos Town (Chora)
The island's whitewashed main town of lanes, chapels, shops and bars
Pace and daylight
The sights in this plan add up to roughly 6–8 hours of visiting over one day, before meals and getting between them. Daylight runs from about 9.6 hours in December to 14.7 hours in June, so in winter start early and keep museums for the afternoon.
Getting between stops: Bus. KTEL buses leave Chora from two terminals: one for the south-coast beaches such as Ornos, Platis Gialos and Paradise, and one near the Old Port for the north and east, including Ano Mera and Kalafatis.
