Romantic day trips
- Gili Nanggu, Sudak and Kedis (About 2 hours by car, then a short boat) — Three small islands off the Sekotong peninsula in the south-west, with white sand, very clear water and coral reefs for snorkelling.
- Pink Beach (Pantai Tangsi) (About 1.5–2 hours by car) — A remote beach in East Lombok where fragments of red coral tint the sand pink, with clear water and snorkelling around nearby islands.
For dinner
Share local specialities such as Ayam taliwang, Plecing kangkung and Nasi balap puyung. Drink bottled or refilled filtered water, and use the refill stations common on the Gilis.
