Day by day

  1. Day 1: Haeundae Beach and Haeundae Blueline Park

Haeundae Beach, Haeundae Blueline Park and Dongbaek Island, then Gwangalli Beach and Gwangan Bridge in the evening.

    1. Morning

      Haeundae Beach

Korea's best-known city beach is a 1.5-km crescent of sand backed by hotels and skyscrapers.

    2. Late morning

      Haeundae Blueline Park

Ride the Sky Capsule one way and walk or take the Beach Train back along the coastal path.

    3. Lunch

      Lunch: Pork and rice soup

The gukbap alley in Seomyeon and long-running shops near Busan Station and Busan National University.

    4. Afternoon

      Dongbaek Island

A small wooded headland at the western end of Haeundae Beach, with a coastal walking path, the Nurimaru APEC House built for the 2005 APEC summit, and views over Gwangan Bridge and Marine City.

    5. Evening

      Gwangalli Beach and Gwangan Bridge

Watch the bridge lights from the sand or a rooftop café after dark, and check the city's tourism site for drone-show nights.

  2. Day 2: Gamcheon Culture Village and Haedong Yonggungsa

Gamcheon Culture Village, Haedong Yonggungsa and Jagalchi Fish Market, then Yongdusan Park and Busan Tower in the evening.

    1. Morning

      Gamcheon Culture Village

Buy the trail map at the information centre and go early in the morning; residents still live here, so keep your voice down.

    2. Late morning

      Haedong Yonggungsa

Unusually for a Korean temple, Haedong Yonggungsa sits on rocks above the sea rather than in the mountains.

    3. Lunch

      Lunch: Wheat cold noodles

Milmyeon specialists across the city, especially around Gaya and Seomyeon.

    4. Afternoon

      Jagalchi Fish Market

Agree the price per kilo and the preparation charge before you buy, and ask for a mix of raw fish and a spicy fish stew.

    5. Evening

      Yongdusan Park and Busan Tower

Go up at dusk, then walk down into Gwangbok-ro for dinner and BIFF Square snacks.

  3. Day 3: Taejongdae and Huinnyeoul Culture Village

Taejongdae, Huinnyeoul Culture Village and Beomeosa Temple, then Gwangalli in the evening.

    1. Morning

      Taejongdae

A wooded headland at the southern tip of Yeongdo island, ringed by sea cliffs, a lighthouse and an observatory looking towards Japan's Tsushima on clear days.

    2. Late morning

      Huinnyeoul Culture Village

Visit on a weekday; the narrow lanes get crowded at weekends and residents value quiet.

    3. Lunch

      Lunch: Fish cake

Long-established fish cake shops in Yeongdo and at Busan Station, and street stalls in Nampo-dong.

    4. Afternoon

      Beomeosa Temple

Founded in 678, Beomeosa is one of Korea's major Seon Buddhist temples, set on the slopes of Geumjeongsan above the city.

    5. Evening

      Gwangalli

Beachfront bars, rooftop terraces and craft-beer pubs facing Gwangan Bridge.

Before you go

  • Haeundae Blueline Park: Sky Capsule slots sell out at weekends and in summer; book online in advance.

T-money / Cashbee card

Rechargeable transport cards bought at convenience stores and stations, valid on buses, subways and many taxis across Korea, with transfer discounts.

If it rains

  • Swap in Spa Land Centum City (Haeundae): Bathing areas are nude and gender-separated; shower thoroughly before entering the pools.
  • Swap in Sea Life Busan Aquarium (Haeundae): Check feeding times at the entrance and plan your route to catch the shark or penguin feeds.

Where to stay for this itinerary

With 3 nights, Haeundae keeps most of this route within easy reach. For a calmer or cheaper base, Gwangalli ($$$) suits couples, nightlife, food lovers and beach. Compare every area.

Pace and daylight

The sights in this plan add up to roughly 19–23 hours of visiting over 3 days, before meals and getting between them. Daylight runs from about 9.8 hours in December to 14.5 hours in June, so in winter start early and keep museums for the afternoon.
