Whistler Village

The main village is a car-free maze of plazas, shops, restaurants and hotels built around the Village Stroll. The Whistler Village Gondola and the Blackcomb Gondola both leave from its edge, so you can walk to the lifts from most hotels. Olympic Plaza, with its giant Olympic rings, hosts summer concerts and the winter skating rink.

Watch out
Expensive; Noisy late at night near the bars

Village North

Village North, across Village Gate Boulevard, is a continuation of the main village with more condo hotels, the Marketplace shopping centre and supermarket, and a slightly calmer feel. The Audain Art Museum, Lost Lake and the Valley Trail are close by, and the lifts are a 5–10 minute walk.

Good

Upper Village

The Upper Village sits at the foot of Blackcomb, linked to the main village by a short walk along Fitzsimmons Creek. It is home to the Fairmont Chateau Whistler, the Squamish Lil'wat Cultural Centre and Blackcomb's Excalibur and Wizard lifts, with several ski-in, ski-out properties.

Creekside

Creekside, about 5 km south of the main village, is where skiing on Whistler Mountain began in 1966. It has the Creekside Gondola, a small cluster of shops, restaurants and condos, and Nita Lake and Alta Lake nearby. It suits skiers who want quick mountain access without the village crowds.

Squamish

Squamish, about 58 km south on the Sea-to-Sky Highway, sits below the granite Stawamus Chief at the head of Howe Sound.
