Day by day
Day 1: Whistler Blackcomb ski resort and Whistler Mountain Bike Park
Whistler Blackcomb ski resort, Whistler Mountain Bike Park, Village Stroll and Olympic Plaza and Ziplining over Fitzsimmons Creek, then Base of the Whistler Village Gondola in the evening.
Morning
Whistler Blackcomb ski resort
Head up early and ski the alpine before it gets tracked out, then move down to the trees if visibility drops. Allow Full day.
Late morning
Whistler Mountain Bike Park
Book a lesson for your first day; the beginner Fitzsimmons zone is the place to learn before tackling the main trails. Allow Half or full day.
Lunch
Lunch: Poutine
Pubs and casual restaurants around the Village Stroll and at the mountain lodges.
Afternoon
Village Stroll and Olympic Plaza
Take the classic photo with the Olympic rings early in the morning before the crowds. Allow 1–2 hours.
Late afternoon
Ziplining over Fitzsimmons Creek
Book the longer course if you want the highest, fastest lines across the valley. Allow 2.5–3.5 hours.
Evening
Base of the Whistler Village Gondola
Slopeside patios and bars packed for après as the lifts close.
Before you go
- Whistler Blackcomb ski resort: Lift tickets and passes are cheaper bought online in advance than at the ticket window; ski school spots fill over holidays.
- Whistler Mountain Bike Park: Rentals and lessons sell out on summer weekends; reserve ahead.
If it rains
- Swap in Squamish Lil'wat Cultural Centre (Upper Village): Join a guided tour on arrival; the cultural ambassadors explain far more than the labels.
- Swap in Audain Art Museum (Village North): Start with the gallery of Northwest Coast masks, one of the strongest parts of the collection.
- Swap in Scandinave Spa Whistler (Lost Lake): Follow the hot–cold–rest cycle three or four times; the cold plunge feels best on a snowy day.
Where to stay for this itinerary
$$$$ · Best for first-timers, nightlife, families and solo travellers
Whistler Village
Pedestrian stroll of shops, bars and hotels at the base of both gondolas
Pace and daylight
The sights in this plan add up to roughly 13–18 hours of visiting over one day, before meals and getting between them. Daylight runs from about 8.1 hours in December to 16.4 hours in June, so in winter start early and keep museums for the afternoon.
Getting between stops: Walking. Whistler Village, Village North and the Upper Village are linked on foot in 5–15 minutes, and both main gondolas leave from the village edge.
