Day by day

  1. Day 1: Whistler Blackcomb ski resort and Whistler Mountain Bike Park

Whistler Blackcomb ski resort, Whistler Mountain Bike Park, Village Stroll and Olympic Plaza and Ziplining over Fitzsimmons Creek, then Base of the Whistler Village Gondola in the evening.

    1. Morning

      Whistler Blackcomb ski resort

The season usually runs from late November to April, and the high alpine snowpack makes conditions reliable at the top even when it rains in the valley.

    2. Late morning

      Whistler Mountain Bike Park

The park hosts the Crankworx festival each summer, and village shops rent full-suspension bikes and protective gear.

    3. Lunch

      Lunch: Poutine

Pubs and casual restaurants around the Village Stroll and at the mountain lodges.

    4. Afternoon

      Village Stroll and Olympic Plaza

Olympic Plaza, built for the 2010 medal ceremonies, has the giant Olympic rings, a lawn for free summer concerts and an outdoor skating rink in winter.

    5. Late afternoon

      Ziplining over Fitzsimmons Creek

Courses run year-round, and guides explain the coastal rainforest ecology along the way.

    6. Evening

Base of the Whistler Village Gondola

Slopeside patios and bars packed for après as the lifts close.

  2. Day 2: Peak 2 Peak Gondola and Cloudraker Skybridge and summer alpine trails

Peak 2 Peak Gondola, Cloudraker Skybridge and summer alpine trails, Squamish Lil'wat Cultural Centre and Audain Art Museum, then Village Stroll in the evening.

    1. Morning

      Peak 2 Peak Gondola

A couple of cabins have glass floors.

    2. Late morning

Cloudraker Skybridge and summer alpine trails

From the top, alpine trails such as the High Note Trail lead past Cheakamus Lake views and wildflower meadows.

    3. Lunch

      Lunch: Après-ski nachos

Bars and patios at the base of the Whistler Village and Blackcomb gondolas.

    4. Afternoon

      Squamish Lil'wat Cultural Centre

Indigenous ambassadors lead tours and share songs, and the café serves bannock and salmon.

    5. Late afternoon

      Audain Art Museum

      Hughes and contemporary artists.

    6. Evening

      Village Stroll

Pubs, cocktail bars and the village's nightclubs, busy until late in ski season.

Before you go

  • Whistler Blackcomb ski resort: Lift tickets and passes are cheaper bought online in advance than at the ticket window; ski school spots fill over holidays.
  • Whistler Mountain Bike Park: Rentals and lessons sell out on summer weekends; reserve ahead.

Epic Pass

Whistler Blackcomb is part of Vail Resorts' Epic Pass network, which can work out cheaper than daily tickets for longer stays.

If it rains

  • Swap in Scandinave Spa Whistler (Lost Lake): Follow the hot–cold–rest cycle three or four times; the cold plunge feels best on a snowy day.

Where to stay for this itinerary

$$$$ · Best for first-timers, nightlife, families and solo travellers

Whistler Village

Pedestrian stroll of shops, bars and hotels at the base of both gondolas

Pace and daylight

The sights in this plan add up to roughly 20–28 hours of visiting over 2 days, before meals and getting between them. Daylight runs from about 8.1 hours in December to 16.4 hours in June, so in winter start early and keep museums for the afternoon.

Getting between stops: Walking. Whistler Village, Village North and the Upper Village are linked on foot in 5–15 minutes, and both main gondolas leave from the village edge.
