- Bus — An extensive bus network covers areas the MRT misses, such as Tiong Bahru, Katong and Dempsey Hill.

Beach-weather months
Air temperatures rarely reach classic beach weather here: the warmest month, March, averages 32°C (90°F).
Beach safety
Street crime against visitors is uncommon, but laws are strict and fines are enforced for littering, smoking in non-designated areas and other offences. The main hazards are heat, sudden lightning storms and dehydration on long walks. Swim at lifeguarded beaches where possible and follow local flag warnings.
