Parroquia de San Miguel Arcángel, El Jardín, Museo Histórico Casa de Allende and Centro Cultural Ignacio Ramírez (Bellas Artes), then Around the Jardín in the evening.
Morning
Parroquia de San Miguel Arcángel
See it twice: in early-morning light from Calle Aldama, and after dark when the façade is floodlit above the Jardín. Allow 30–45 minutes.
Late morning
El Jardín
Grab a bench in the late afternoon, then watch the Parroquia light up as mariachis start playing around the square. Allow 1 hour.

Lunch: Enchiladas mineras
Traditional restaurants and fondas in the Mercado Ignacio Ramírez and around the San Antonio barrio.
Afternoon
Museo Histórico Casa de Allende
Visit before a day trip to Dolores Hidalgo or Atotonilco to understand their role in the independence movement. Allow 45 minutes–1 hour.
Late afternoon
Centro Cultural Ignacio Ramírez (Bellas Artes)
Look into the Siqueiros room off the cloister, then sit in the courtyard; it is one of the calmest spaces in the centre. Allow 45 minutes.
Evening
Around the Jardín
Rooftop terraces with Parroquia views and cocktail bars on Calle Umarán and Calle Hidalgo.
If it rains
- Swap in Fábrica La Aurora (Colonia Guadalupe): Allow time to visit the open studios, where artists are often at work and happy to talk.

Centro
Cobbled streets, the Jardín and the Parroquia
Pace and daylight
The sights in this plan add up to roughly 3–4 hours of visiting over one day, before meals and getting between them. Daylight runs from about 10.9 hours in December to 13.4 hours in June.
Getting between stops: Walking. Most sights are within 15 minutes' walk of the Jardín, but streets are steep, cobbled and narrow, with high kerbs and uneven pavements.
