Day by day

  1. Day 1: Magic Kingdom and EPCOT

Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney's Hollywood Studios and Disney's Animal Kingdom, then Epic Universe in the evening.

    1. Morning

      Magic Kingdom

Classic rides include Space Mountain, Pirates of the Caribbean and the Haunted Mansion, and the evening fireworks over the castle are the high point for many families.

    2. Late morning

      EPCOT

Seasonal festivals for food, flowers, the arts and the holidays run for much of the year.

    3. Lunch

      Lunch: Dole Whip

Aloha Isle in Magic Kingdom and Disney's Polynesian Village Resort.

    4. Afternoon

      Disney's Hollywood Studios

Its evening Fantasmic! show plays in an outdoor amphitheatre.

    5. Late afternoon

      Disney's Animal Kingdom

The Tree of Life, carved with hundreds of animals, is the park's centrepiece.

    6. Evening

      Epic Universe

Go to the land you care about most at opening; queues elsewhere are usually shorter later in the day.

  2. Day 2: Universal Studios Florida and Universal Islands of Adventure

Universal Studios Florida, Universal Islands of Adventure, SeaWorld Orlando and Disney Springs, then Lake Eola Park in the evening.

    1. Morning

      Universal Studios Florida

The Hogwarts Express train links it with Islands of Adventure for visitors with a park-to-park ticket.

    2. Late morning

      Universal Islands of Adventure

It is the more thrill-heavy of Universal's two original parks.

    3. Lunch

      Lunch: Butterbeer

Hogsmeade, Diagon Alley and Epic Universe's Ministry of Magic land at Universal.

    4. Afternoon

      SeaWorld Orlando

SeaWorld Orlando combines marine-animal habitats — penguins, sea lions, dolphins and manatees — with some of Orlando's biggest roller coasters, including the hypercoaster Mako.

    5. Late afternoon

      Disney Springs

Disney Springs is a free-entry outdoor district of shops, restaurants, bars and entertainment beside Lake Buena Vista, with the huge World of Disney store and a tethered helium balloon ride that rises high above the lake.

    6. Evening

      Lake Eola Park

Come at dusk, when the fountain lights up, and hire a swan boat for a slow lap of the lake.

Before you go

  • Magic Kingdom: Tickets are dated and prices vary by day; buy in advance on the official site and consider paid queue access for busy dates.
  • EPCOT: The most popular rides may use a virtual queue or paid access; check the Disney app for the current system on your date.
  • Universal Studios Florida: Buy dated tickets online; you need a park-to-park ticket to ride the Hogwarts Express between the two original parks.
  • Epic Universe: Epic Universe tickets are sold separately from the original parks and can sell out on busy dates; book well ahead.

Disney transportation

Disney's buses, monorail, boats and Skyliner are free to use between Disney parks, hotels and Disney Springs.

If it rains

  • Swap in Morse Museum of American Art (Winter Park): Allow time for the reconstructed Tiffany Chapel, the highlight for most visitors.
  • Swap in Orlando Science Center (Loch Haven Park): Pair it with the Orlando Museum of Art next door in Loch Haven Park on a wet or very hot afternoon.

Pace and daylight

The sights in this plan add up to roughly 51–69 hours of visiting over 2 days, before meals and getting between them. Daylight runs from about 10.3 hours in December to 13.9 hours in June.

Getting between stops: Car. A rental car gives the most flexibility for moving between Disney, Universal, SeaWorld and day trips.
