Day by day

1. Day 1: Railay Beach and Phra Nang Cave Beach

   Railay Beach, Phra Nang Cave Beach, Rock climbing at Railay and Tonsai and Maya Bay, Koh Phi Phi Leh, then Ao Nang Beach in the evening.

   1. Morning

      Railay Beach

      Walking paths link it to East Railay, Phra Nang Cave Beach and the climbing walls, and a steep, muddy scramble with ropes leads to a viewpoint and hidden lagoon.

   2. Late morning

      Phra Nang Cave Beach

      Princess Cave at one end is filled with carved wooden offerings left by fishermen, and climbers scale the walls above the sand.

   3. Lunch

      Lunch: Gaeng som

      Local curry-and-rice shops in Krabi Town and stalls at the night markets.

   4. Afternoon

      Rock climbing at Railay and Tonsai

      Climbing schools run half-day and full-day introductory courses and deep-water soloing trips.

   5. Late afternoon

      Maya Bay, Koh Phi Phi Leh

      Boats now land at the back of the island, visitors walk in on a boardwalk, time on the sand is limited and swimming is not allowed. Blacktip reef sharks are often seen in the shallows.

   6. Evening

      Ao Nang Beach

      Walk to the quieter southern end for sunset, or take a longtail to Railay for better swimming.

2. Day 2: Four Islands tour and Fossil Shell Beach (Susan Hoi)

   Four Islands tour, Fossil Shell Beach (Susan Hoi), Hong Islands and Tiger Cave Temple (Wat Tham Suea), then Krabi Town night markets in the evening.

   1. Morning

      Four Islands tour

      Longtail and speedboat versions leave from Ao Nang and Noppharat Thara every morning.

   2. Late morning

      Fossil Shell Beach (Susan Hoi)

      A small visitor area explains the geology.

   3. Lunch

      Lunch: Gaeng tai pla

      Southern Thai restaurants and rice-and-curry stalls; ask for a small portion if you are unsure.

   4. Afternoon

      Hong Islands

      Tours combine it with neighbouring islets and a viewpoint climb on Koh Hong.

   5. Late afternoon

      Tiger Cave Temple (Wat Tham Suea)

      Monkeys roam the lower levels.

   6. Evening

      Krabi Town night markets

      Go hungry and try roti, grilled seafood and southern curries; prices are lower than in Ao Nang.
