Getting home late
- Tram — Stops are marked with tall signs; vehicles come every 10–15 minutes at most times.
- Bus — RideKC buses cover the metro area, including the MAX rapid lines on Main Street and Troost Avenue, which reach the Plaza area and midtown.
- Ride-hailing — Uber and Lyft are the easiest way to reach 18th & Vine, Westport, Joe's in Kansas City, Kansas, and the stadiums.
- Walking — Downtown, the Crossroads and Crown Center are walkable, as is the Plaza; walking between districts is usually too far.
Late-night bites
- Westside tacos and Mexican food — Southwest Boulevard between the Crossroads and the state line, near Boulevard Brewing.
Staying safe at night
Visitor areas such as downtown, the Crossroads, the Plaza and Crown Center are generally fine, but some streets between districts are empty at night, so use a rideshare after dark. In spring and early summer, learn what tornado sirens and warnings mean and follow local instructions.
