Ways to get around

Ride-hailing

Grab, Be and Xanh SM offer cars and motorbike taxis at fixed fares across the city, to the Marble Mountains and to Hoi An.

Motorbike taxis cost least for solo trips; book a car for the airport or Ba Na Hills with luggage or children.

Taxi

Metered taxis are widely available at the airport and hotels; use well-known companies and check the meter is running.

Scooter

Scooters can be rented from hotels and shops for exploring Son Tra and the coast road; traffic is calmer than in Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City.

Riding legally requires a valid licence, and travel insurance often excludes riders without one.

Walking

The riverfront promenade and the beach path are pleasant on foot, especially in the evening.

Train

Trains on the North–South line run from Da Nang station to Hue in about 2.5–3 hours, following the coast over the Hai Van Pass.

From the airport

Da Nang International Airport (DAD) is about 3 km from the riverfront: around 10 minutes by ride-hailing car to the centre, 15–20 minutes to My Khe Beach and about 45 minutes to Hoi An. Taxis and ride-hailing pickups are outside arrivals.

Do you need a car?

No. Ride-hailing covers the city and nearby sights, and private cars with drivers are easy to book for Hoi An, My Son, Ba Na Hills and Hue.
