Day by day
Day 1: Titanic Belfast and SS Nomadic
Titanic Belfast, SS Nomadic, Belfast City Hall and Murals and peace walls of west Belfast, then Crown Liquor Saloon in the evening.
Morning
Titanic Belfast
Leave time to walk the slipways outside and look up at the Samson and Goliath cranes of the Harland & Wolff yard. Allow 2–3 hours.
Late morning
SS Nomadic
Entry is usually included with a Titanic Belfast ticket, so visit straight after the main exhibition. Allow 45 minutes.
Lunch
Lunch: Ulster fry
Cafés across the city, hotel breakfasts and the stalls at St George's Market on weekends.
Afternoon
Belfast City Hall
Tours are free but limited in size; pick up a slot at reception early in the day. Allow 1 hour.
Late afternoon
Murals and peace walls of west Belfast
Visitors sign the international peace wall on Cupar Way; a guided tour gives context you won't get on your own. Allow 1.5–2 hours.
Evening
Crown Liquor Saloon
Visit mid-afternoon on a weekday to have a better chance of getting one of the snugs.
Before you go
- Titanic Belfast: Entry is by timed ticket and summer and weekend slots fill up; book online in advance.
If it rains
- Swap in Ulster Museum (Queen's Quarter): Pair it with a walk through the Botanic Gardens, whose gates are right beside the museum.
- Swap in Crumlin Road Gaol (North Belfast): Tours are guided and can sell out on weekends; buy tickets online before you go.
- Swap in St George's Market (City Centre): Arrive hungry on a Saturday or Sunday morning for an Ulster fry bap or fresh seafood from the stalls.
Where to stay for this itinerary
$$ · Best for first-timers, shopping and budget
City Centre
City Hall, Donegall Place shopping and the main bus and rail hubs
Pace and daylight
The sights in this plan add up to roughly 6–8 hours of visiting over one day, before meals and getting between them. Daylight runs from about 7.3 hours in December to 17.2 hours in June, so in winter start early and keep museums for the afternoon.
Getting between stops: Walking. Walking is the easiest way to see the centre, and the waterfront path links the Big Fish to the Titanic Quarter over the Lagan Weir footbridge.
