- Barossa shiraz — Rich, full-bodied shiraz from the Barossa Valley, where some vineyards have vines more than a century old.
- Clare Valley riesling — Dry, citrusy riesling from the Clare Valley, a classic match for local seafood.

Getting home late
- Tram — The Glenelg tram takes about 30 minutes from Victoria Square to Moseley Square.
- Bus — Adelaide Metro buses cover the suburbs, the hills foothills and the coast, and the free City Connector loops around the city and North Adelaide.
- Walking — The city's square mile is flat and laid out on a grid; most central sights are within 20 minutes' walk of each other.
Late-night bites
- Pie floater — Pie carts and bakeries; the Adelaide pie-cart tradition dates back to the late 1800s.
- Yiros — Late-night shops on Hindley Street and Greek restaurants around the city and Norwood.
- Fritz and sauce — Delis, butchers and supermarkets across the state.
- FruChocs — Supermarkets, newsagents and souvenir shops.

Staying safe at night
Adelaide is a relaxed city for visitors. The main hazards are summer heat, strong sun and occasional bushfire risk in the Hills on hot, windy days; check fire warnings before driving to rural areas. Hindley Street can get rowdy late on weekend nights.
