The options in detail

Train · RER B line, Île-de-France Mobilités network (RATP / SNCF)

RER B

Route
Aéroport CDG 1 station (Terminals 1 and 3, Roissypôle) and Aéroport CDG 2 station (Terminal 2, TGV station) to Gare du Nord, Châtelet-Les Halles and other Paris RER B stations
Journey time
30–45 min
How the time is measured
RATP: '30 à 45 min depuis le centre de Paris'. Other official figures differ: RATP RER page 'environ 30 minutes', Transilien '35 minute trip', IDFM (page first published 2023) 'between 25 and 30 minutes'.
Fare
€14
Fare details
Ticket Paris Région <> Aéroports: 14 € full fare, 7 € reduced fare (rates from 1 January 2026). Valid on any metro/RER/train journey to/from the airport, all zones, with metro and RER connections for 2 hours from first validation, so RER B plus a metro connection costs one ticket. Not valid on buses, Noctilien or trams. Sold on a Navigo Easy pass or smartphone (IDFM app), not as a cardboard ticket. Navigo monthly or annual passes that cover the airport zone need no extra ticket.
Hours
Approximately 4:50 a.m. to midnight, both directions (IDFM, 2026)
Frequency
Every 6 to 15 minutes in both directions (IDFM, 2026)
Good to know
IDFM's main recommendation now that Roissybus has stopped (Roissybus ended for good on 1 March 2026). At the airport, the free CDGVAL shuttle links Terminal 1, Roissypôle/Terminal 3 and Terminal 2 every 4 minutes, 4:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. Some RATP pages still show old fares (11,45 €, 13 €); 14 € is the current IDFM price. CDG Express, a direct train to Gare de l’Est, is due to open on 28 March 2027 according to its official site; it is not running yet.

Express bus · Transdev Express Roissy for Île-de-France Mobilités

Express bus 9517 + metro (via Saint-Denis-Pleyel)

Route
Roissypôle (CDG Terminal 1/3 area) to Saint-Denis-Pleyel (metro 13 and 14, RER D), then metro line 14 to central Paris (e.g. Châtelet). The line itself runs Gare d'Argenteuil to Roissypôle.
How the time is measured
Only the bus leg has an official time: Saint-Denis-Pleyel to Roissypôle 30 minutes (IDFM, Transilien) or 45 minutes (RATP), longer at some weekday hours. The metro leg into central Paris is extra and not stated.
Fare
€4.60–€5.10
Fare details
Two tickets: the bus leg needs a Ticket Bus-Tram (2,05 € in 2026; 2,55 € as an SMS or bank-card boarding ticket) and the metro needs a separate Ticket Métro-Train-RER (2,55 € in 2026), so the trip costs 4,60–5,10 €. 1,64 € for the bus with Navigo Liberté +.
Hours
Daily from 5:20 a.m. to 00:30 a.m. (IDFM, Transilien)
Frequency
Weekdays every 15 min at peak and 30 min off-peak; Saturdays and Sundays every 20 min during the day and 30 min in the evening (IDFM)
Good to know
IDFM's official replacement for the discontinued Roissybus, 'equipped with the same buses as RoissyBus'. It drops passengers at RoissyPôle station, a few minutes' walk from the airport. Budget option, but slower and more complex than RER B for central Paris.

Ticket Bus-Tram 2,05 € (2026); SMS or bank-card boarding ticket 2,55 €. The 14 € airport ticket is not valid on buses.
Frequency
Bus 350 every 15 to 35 minutes; bus 351 every 15 to 30 minutes (IDFM)

Cheapest daytime option but slow and road-traffic dependent. A RATP page still quotes the Bus-Tram ticket at 2 €; IDFM's 2026 price is 2,05 €.

Taxi · Licensed Parisian taxis, regulated by the Préfecture de police

Licensed Paris taxi (regulated flat fare)

Route
Direct ride between CDG and any address in Paris (both directions)
Journey time
30–90 min
How the time is measured
RATP, travel by car from central Paris: about 30 minutes in light traffic, about 1h to 1h30 at peak times
Fare
€56–€65 per vehicle
Fare details
Flat fares in force since 25 February 2025 and still listed on the Préfecture page (updated 17 July 2026): CDG to Paris Right Bank (rive droite) 56 €, CDG to Paris Left Bank (rive gauche) 65 €. Same price day and night, and during heavy traffic or strikes. The meter applies instead for a detour or change of destination asked by the customer, multiple stops, or a shared ride. Service-Public: no extra fee or surcharge can be added to airport flat fares.
Luggage
No luggage supplement for Parisian taxis (Service-Public)
Accessibility
A supplement for a disabled passenger's wheelchair is forbidden (Service-Public)
Good to know
Use the official taxi rank; flat fares are mandatory for Parisian taxis on direct Paris–CDG rides. The Préfecture lists a 5,50 € supplement from the 5th passenger as part of the general fare components; Service-Public says nothing can be added to airport flat fares, so this is unclear for groups of 5+.

Rideshare · Licensed VTC operators and booking platforms

VTC / ride-hailing (pre-booked private hire)

Route
Door-to-door between CDG and any Paris address
Journey time
30–90 min
How the time is measured
Same road journey as a taxi: RATP gives about 30 minutes by car in light traffic and about 1h to 1h30 at peak times
Fare details
No official price; VTC fares are not regulated flat fares and vary by platform and demand.
Good to know
VTCs may only operate with a prior booking (réservation préalable); only taxis may be hailed or picked up without one. Do not accept offers from drivers approaching travellers in the terminal.
